The Reign of God as waiting. Comments to: adebelak@redeemerluth.com

The Reign of God as waiting is a reminder that the Reign of God in all of its promised glory is present. It is here waiting for us to enter the life that is promised. There is no need for us to wait - it is here. Too often, we are depicted as people who are waiting for something to come. That may be why the Church is rarely see as being proactive and leaping into the vast wonder of God's Reign in this place and time. We have become so used to waiting for something to come we miss all the life that is arriving in front of us each moment of our lives. Could it be that we often are waiting for the right excuse not to enter the life of God's Reign by saying it is coming and therefore folks just keep waiting.

O God of New Life and All Hopefulness, spill out your Reign all over us that it might get through to us that it is already at hand. Amen.
