Tom and Kathy Mimlitch are parents to two daughters and grandparents of four ages 12 to 19. Kathy graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in chemistry and returned to school as a second career in nursing, spending almost 20 years as a hospice nurse. Tom also graduated from the University of Kentucky in computer science and worked in the industry until four years ago.
Having retired, Kathy now spends her time sewing, knitting, biking, reading, traveling, and volunteering. Tom spends his retirement enjoying biking, photography and sci-fi novels. They joined Redeemer in 1972 as it was close by and the congregation was friendly. Over the years they have been involved in sponsoring Vietnamese refugees, helping with food giveaways, fellowship activities, funeral meals, counting the offering, caring for the senior members of the congregation and monitoring the Free Little Libraries. Kathy is a member of the newly formed Health Team as well as being on Church council and the call committee.
