Tom and Kathy Mimlitch

Tom and Kathy Mimlitch are parents to two daughters and grandparents of four ages 12 to 19.  Kathy graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in chemistry and returned to school as a second career in nursing, spending almost 20 years as a hospice nurse.  Tom also graduated from the University of Kentucky in computer science and worked in the industry until four years ago.

My life in Columbus started at Capital University in Bexley. After I graduated in 1995, I moved to Manhattan to pursue my acting dreams, but life had other plans for me, so I wound up back in Columbus in 1999. During my time in New York City, I came out and fully accepted myself for who I was.

Tom Rabenold and Lou Staffilino

Tom chose Redeemer as his place of worship when he  had a job relocation to Columbus. He visited several Evangelical Lutheran churches. The members of Redeemer were by far the most welcoming. Lou started attending with Tom and received the same warm welcome.

Justin, Jessica, and Cora Marquez

When we chose Redeemer, we were in the midst of looking for a church where we could raise our daughter and get involved as a family.  We ended up there because of a social media post by Justin’s old co-worker and Justin remembered him speaking very highly of the church because of their acceptance of everyone.  Jessica was also raised and baptized in a Lutheran Church so that part was comfortable and appealing.

Bennett Whitaker

When I first came to Redeemer, I was responding to a call for a sign language interpreter. The congregation's current interpreter was soon to leave the state and needed to find a suitable replacement. I came to fill a need. I hadn't anticipated that Redeemer would fill a need in me.
